| Henk Milne was
born in Calcutta, India, in 1953 and was raised in London,
England. He earned a Bachelor of Laws, with honors, from the
University of Manchester, England in 1975. After completing
studies at The College of Law, London, Henk was admitted to
practice as a Barrister in the U.K. in 1977 and completed
his pupillage in Lincoln's Inn and Middle Temple in 1978.
He gained his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the University
of Miami School of Law in 1980, was admitted to the Florida
Bar in 1981 and has based his legal practice in Florida ever
since.
Henk's practice involves complex civil litigation
in - as his dozens of reported cases show - a wide range of
substantive areas, with a particular focus on international
and multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration. He is
frequently called on to advise, to formulate strategy and
to coordinate and supervise the representation of a wide range
of corporate and individual clients in disputes pending simultaneously
in the U.S. and in one or more foreign countries around the
world. He has arbitrated matters, tried cases to judges and
juries, and has briefed and argued appeals in various state
and federal courts and tribunals across the United States
- including California, Florida, Hawaii, New York, New Jersey,
Georgia, Ohio, Arizona and Texas - and abroad. Henk has been
retained as an expert witness on English law in American proceedings
and on American laws in connection with proceedings in the
U.K.
Henk is a member of the bars of Florida;
England and Wales; the trial and bankruptcy bars of the U.S.
Southern and Middle Districts of Florida; the U.S. Claims
Court; and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and Eleventh
Circuits. He is a member of The Maritime Law Association of
the U.S. and The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
He speaks French, Dutch and Spanish with varying levels of
proficiency and has earned Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating
for his professional skills and his ethics: "AV." |
