Carlos Osorio was born in Managua, Nicaragua, in 1977.  He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1999 and subsequently obtained his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Miami School of Law in 2002. He was admitted to The Florida Bar that same year. Carlos joined Aballí Milne Kalil as a law clerk in 2001, continued as an associate, and was admitted as a member of the firm in 2011.

Carlos is a member of the Firm’s litigation practice and focuses his practice on complex international commercial litigation matters in State and federal courts in Florida, and in other States in the U.S., with a particular emphasis on liaising with foreign clients and foreign counsel, in Spanish, in multi-jurisdictional disputes.

Carlos has substantial experience in a wide range of substantive areas, including international banking and investment disputes, class actions, shareholder disputes, copyright disputes, the domestication and enforcement of foreign judgments, the procurement of evidence for foreign proceedings under 28 U.S.C. § 1782, and international asset tracing and freezing.

Carlos is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (2002), the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit (2002), the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida (2002), and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, (2008).  His representative cases include:  Fortuna Distrib. Corp. v. Univision Network, Ltd., 884 So. 2d 454 (Fla. 3d DCA 2004); Solari v. Zublin Chile Ingenieria Y Construcciones, 987 So. 2d 161 (Fla. 3d DCA 2008); Inverpan v. Britten, 646 F. Supp. 2d 1354 (S.D. Fla. 2009); Fodere v. Lorenzo, 2011 WL 465468 (S.D. Fla. Feb. 4, 2011).

Carlos is active in the Fabretto Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding and educating thousands of children in Nicaragua on a daily basis.
